Taking Charge With Your Tongue: Why You Must Walk By Faith And Operate On God’s Word
When a manufacturer manufactures a machine or device, he also creates an operation or user manual for that machine. This operation manual guides the user on how that machine or device is to be operated in order to get the best result out of it. If you go contrary to the stipulated instructions, the machine begins to malfunction. So it is with the human person. We are created by God and our manual of operation for effective functionality is enshrined in His word embedded in the pages of the scripture. Whoever goes against these operating manual does not get the best result. It is no respecter of persons. It doesn’t know if you know about it or not. These are spiritual laws. Recently, I overheard two marketers discussing their encounters on the field on how they end up selling nothing whenever they are to travel to a distant location to sell and consider the transportation fare and have doubts in their minds: ‘what if I don’t sell’. In their conclusion, they end up not making sells whenever they exhibit such fears. This is something they have practically experienced time and time again. For instance, when the bible says: give and it shall be given unto you, it means the law for receiving is giving. A medical professional met a renowned man of God to tell him about one of their discoveries, and how ‘they’, men of God are blessed to be positively making use of their speech center. According to him, one of their latest discoveries showed that the speech center is the control center of the body. It has nerves connected to every tissues and organs of the body. So when you say something like ‘I can’t do it’, it sends a signal to every organs of the body which subsequently start shutting down, and acting based on the instructions they’ve received from the control centre. The man of God simply told him that he knew that long time ago, and that he learnt it from Dr. James. ‘Dr. James’ is one of the writers of the new testament that talked extensively about the power of the tongue. So why say negative things about yourself like ‘I can’t’ instead of ‘I can do all things through Christ’ or ‘I am poor’ instead of ‘I am rich in Christ’., ‘God shall suppy all my needs according to His riches in glory, in Christ Jesus’, ‘I shall not lack nor want because the Lord is my shepherd’. It is the devil’s goal to make you afraid, and so you have been saying these things based on what you are seeing. But we do not live by sight, but we walk by faith. We have the mind of Christ. We decree those things that are not as if they were. If you are not yet taking charge of your Christian authority, you need to start doing so today, daily studying the scripture, the manual and guide for human existence that contains the principles and oracles of God, constantly seeking insight from the holy Spirit and commanding those things that be not as if they were.
