Why Always Peter, James And John On Certain Missions With Jesus?

Jesus took with Him, Peter and John and James. Luke 9:28.

I believe there was something that sets these three apart that makes the Lord go with them only, on certain private, personal and special voyages. Recall that both Peter and Andrew were called on the same day, but Andrew doesn’t form part of this special emissaries always. This special duties and revelations make them know certain things than the other disciples, hence, they were seen as the leaders of the early Christian fold after the Lord Jesus ascended back to heaven. While it’s true that James and John were brothers and are part of the first-called disciples of Jesus just as Peter and Andrew, it is also true that Peter and Andrew were brothers. Hence, I believe this is not just a matter of who was called first, or the filial relationship between them, but more truly, a matter of the vessel. It reminds me of what the Bible says about anyone who sets himself apart, being used as a vessel unto honour. (2 Tim 2:21).

So my dear brethren, the Lord would reveal certain truths and send you on certain missions based on how He finds you able and capable. How have you set yourself apart for the Master’s use? The Lord is not biased and would not give you what He knows you cannot carry. So look inward and set yourself apart for a special purpose today.
