Be Still | Whispers Of Faith #14

Be Still | Whispers Of Faith #14

There is a time for stillness before the Lord.
The hustle can wait!
The bustle can wait!!
The chaos can wait!!!
The noise can wait!!!!
Quietness is not the absence of productivity but the presence of peace. There is a time to savour the sweetness of His presence in stillness, quietness and trust.
The bible says in Psalm 46:10:
Be still and know that I am God.
In Habakkuk 2:20, the bible says:
The Lord is in His holy temple, let all the earth be silent before Him.
There is power and aura of His presence in stillness.
When Elijah encountered God on the Mount of God (Mount Horeb) (1Kings 19:8), there was a mighty wind, an earthquake and fire but the Lord was not in any of them. Then a still small voice came. When Elijah recognized the presence of God in it, he went to stand at the mouth of the cave (1 Kings 19:11-13):

The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

In stillness, you can feel His presence and hear His voice. Be still before Him today, and you’ll know He is God.
